Summary Paragraph of Clay Boat Lab
The purpose of the lab was to find out why the clay boat sank. The clay boats sank because the volume of the boat that was underwater did not displace the same amount of water as the mass of the boat itself. We know this beacuase we conducted an experiment meant to find how much water 10 grams of clay would displace. We also wanted to see if the boats floated or sank. The boats that floated displaced was about the same as the mass of the clay, which was 10 grams. The boats that sank displaced about 5 grams of water, which was not enough to make the boat float. We found out that shape was a culprit in this mystery, not density. We had to make the boat a specific shape to make it float.

Lab of Mesuring Mass and Volume of a Liquid
Today in class, we did a lab to see if mass and volume had a correlation. We made tables to show the volume of three different liquids. Then we graphed our data. By looking at our graph, we determined that there is a correlation between mass and volume when using the same liquids, orange, green, and blue.

The Suspects of Mission Possible ~~Who Sunk Anita's Boat??
Ductility-the ability of a substance to be drawn or pulled into a wire. Crimes Commited Previously- She busted into someone's house by useing himself as a key for the front door's lock.
Malleability-the ability of a substance to be pounded into thin sheets. Crimes Commited Previously- She slid himself under the classroom door and looked at the upcoming tests and cheated!
Volume- the amout of space that something takes up or occupies. Crimes Commited Previously- He went and drank some of Kool Aid Man's Kool Aid and stole some blue Kool Aid for his beaker so he could measure its volume.
Mass- the amount of matter that something is made of. Crimes Commited Previously- Broke into someones house and sucked the mass out of all the TVs in the house.
Weight-a measure of the gravitational force exerted on an object, usually by the earth. Crimes Commited Previously- Made children get fat from eating to much junk.
Color- the visual perception property in humans. Dervied from a spectrum of light. Crimes Commited Previously- He created rainbows that distracted people from driving. It caused many car accidents.
Texture- The feel or shape of a surface fo something. Crimes Commited Previously- It rolled on childerns clay in art class and made imprints in the clay. The artwork harden and was left with bumps.

Is Mass Conserved?
Today in class we did a lab to see if mass is conserved. Before this lab, we conducted an expirement to see if volume was conserved but it was not. So we took the water and Isopropyl alcohol and we conducted a lab to see if the mass of the Isopropyl alcohol and the water would be conserved. When we found out the mass of the water and the mass of the Isopropyl alcohol.

This is a story to help you remember the metric system! Enjoy!
The Adventures of Cindy Metric
Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Cindy Metric. One day when she was being lectured by Miss Nano, Cindy fell asleep. She drifted off to dreamland. She dreamed about a millipede called Milli. Milli had 1,000 legs. She was small and colorful. Milli was on her way to class, but when she got to the classroom door there was a huge kilo guard. Milli did not know what to do. He was 1,000,000 times bigger than she was. Milli tried to crawl under the door but the guard's huge foot blocked her access. She tried crawling up through the keyhole but the hand of the gaurd blocked that too. His hand was 1,000 times bigger than the keyhole. Little Milli tried to squeeze through his fingers but there was no way. Milli heard the gaurd's stomach growling and she remembered that she had brought in metric cookies for a lab that her class was doing. The lab was to show how much bigger or smaller the rats would get if they ate the cookies. So she reached into her knapsack and brought out her cookies. She offered the gaurd a cookie and he took it. He shrunk into a centi gaurd. He was still 10 times bigger than Milli. She could not remember what cookie was the nano cookie. So Milli tested out all the cookies until she got to the final cookie. It had to be the nano cookie. She gave the cookie to the gaurd but he grew. How could he have if the only cookie she had left was supposed to be the nano cookie? She examinded the plastic bag the cookies were in and she notced that one of the corners of the bag was chewed at. She searched her bag and found that the cookie was at the bottom of the bag. It was bitten from but she still gave it to the gaurd. He ate it! Finally he shrunk into a nano gaurd. He was finally 1,000,000 times smaller than her. She got to the door and crawled through the keyhole. "Cindy, wake up! There will be no falling asleep in my class. DETENTION!" Shouted Miss Nano. "But i had a dream about the metric system." Said Cindy. "Really, tell us about it." Cindy told the story and Miss Nano was facinated. "Wow what a dream." Said Miss Nano. "I never thought that your boring lectures would pay off. Finally I realize that that the metric system can really come in handy! Thank you Miss Nano." Your welcome Cindy. Oh, and by the way, you don't have detention the dream was school related." Then Miss Nano chuckled a little bit and dismissed our class.
